Like waking up with a headache at 6, having to walk a mile to the bus stop, going to work right after school, not coming home until 10 effectively not being home for 16 hours. But then I think about the Lexus GS 430 and it reminds me that things are going to be alright.
Also Forza Motorsport 7 drops tonight and I plan on playing that in lieu of studying for my differential equations exam that I’m totally going to pass anyway.

I’m kind of surprised you’re not just getting a cheap reliable car in the interim and getting something nice when you graduate.

I’d rather hold out and get an expensive reliable car.

This is my next tough decision - get something nice and fun for my next car, or get a responsible and economical family sedan?

Do you like that color? No judging at all just wondering if you are specifically seeking that or thats just one thats available near you.
I wonder how long it will take for the current gen 350 F sport to drop in price? Probably a while since apparently it has a great chassis.

I went with something that was fun and nice as opposed to cheaper and more economical. With as many miles as I drive, I probably should have gotten a Japanese econobox and lived with it, knowing I’d have the M3 to drive on the weekends. What are you thinking about, in both fun/nice and responsible/economical?

Black makes this gen look best. Takes away from the rear end bulk and makes it look classy as hell. But stop reminding me that the GS exists so I can enjoy my FWD in peace.

Keeping my budget between $20K - $28K, I’m thinking either a new Accord 2.0T manual (again, depends on pricing), or a ‘13 MB C350, ‘15 Chrysler 300S V8, or a 320i/328i manual.

You could get a 2013 328i with a 6MT and an N/A I6, not sure how the BMW turbo engines are going to hold up, which is why I got what I got despite the worse fuel economy. The rest seem like good choices, not sure how I personally feel about the Chrysler 300S, I just have never been a fan of any Dodge/Chrysler product.

Lots of fun choices in that price range, and I actually would have trouble deciding between what you listed. I think the accord being brand new would be the least fun for your money, and you may be better off with a last gen v6 MT. 300S is in its own class and is gorgeous, but not super fun. c350 would be my overall favorite, but it would be hard to justify over the 328 with a stick even though it has a better interior, exterior (IMO), and motor (Also, IMO).
Have you checked out any Cadillacs, lexii, or a G8 GXP (or GT)? Maybe g37 with a stick and some change leftover? Dont think you can go wrong with anything youre looking at though.

So Cadillac-wise, I would want a 6cyl meaning CTS or ATS, but they need to be current-gen, so out of my price range (not the ATS but that instrument cluster is fugly). A GS350 would be neat, and is getting into my price range, but I want something a little more lithe. G8 GXP/GT cars are still well over $30K. A G35S with manual is probably $16,000 right now, but my parents have a G37x and I’m not a fan of $3,500 converters and $900 wheel bearings. Plus for as fun as it is I wouldn’t be able to live with it every day I don’t think - it’s old hat to me now.
The wife doesn’t want me in a used BMW, citing my current E46 repair tally. My concern with the C350 would be future maintenance costs as well, but if I can get into a used F30 320i that should be just over $20K with my options I’m looking for and I can always tune it for more powah.
Also, I would only get a last-gen Accord if it were a sedan, so no manual option with the V6 which is a shame.

The 300S looks like a BAMF, which is more of a lust thing than a smart decision thing. Plus all that torque. I would like an E9x, but unless it’s really low mileage I would fall back into the maintenance loop of cooling components, clutch, etc. My wife has had it with my tinkering on my E46, but she’s not really a used-car type of person.

There aren’t may available most of them are over 150k miles. Not that high mileage is a red flag, particularly not on a Toyota product. Still seems like people that bought them, drove the shit out of them and or kept them for a real long time.

I can get wanting the 300S. The E9X, I mean, mine only had 40k on it when I got it. They’re out there, just hard to find at times.

I could live with an F30 if it has a manual, but the brakes and steering are too crappy to live with an automatic. That 300S is pure sex.
